CHAIN and the GANG
May 20, 2015 @ 9:00 pm - 2:00 am
$10
As Ian himself puts it: “If asked about it by a prospective fan, I would say ‘Watch out; it might hurt your feelings.’ Or ‘Be careful…there’s no telling what might happen if you put it in your ear.'” Why? Because Chain & The Gang isn’t for everyone. It’s not designed for the… victims of Ikea who rely on robots to choose their background muzak, but it can also prove to be addictive and has some disturbing side effects.
Shivery Shakes have time traveled back from the distant year of 2017 to brainwash you some shimmery fuzzy pop jams. They were first abducted into space by a recently un-cryogenically frozen Johnny Carson in 2015, who provided them with extensive training on how to become the new world order of sloppy garage bands.
Blaire Alise is the kind of singer/songwriter who refuses to sit on a stool and play an acoustic guitar. She IS from Detroit after all. Blaire is known for her high-energy, engaging performances with a style described as a combination of 60’s pop and garage rock. Her songs are full of catchy hooks, upbeat lyrics and rich background vocals reminiscent of that timeless girl group sound from the 60’s, but with a hearty dose of garage rock that reminds you of her Detroit roots. Think Ronettes with a Detroit edge. Her influences include artists such as Wanda Jackson, Lesley Gore and Little Willie John, as well as the Detroit garage rock bands who have embraced her as their own.
